A Durable Shield For Your Problem Tooth

Protects What's Left
A crown acts as a durable shield for a tooth weakened by a large cavity or fracture, protecting it from further damage and the kind of break that often leads to extraction.
Rebuilds How You Bite
It reinforces your tooth structure so you can chew without discomfort, giving the tooth back its full function without risk.

Looks Like It Was Always There
Each crown is designed to match the light-reflecting properties of your enamel, blending with your existing teeth so precisely that you can expect to stop noticing it within days.
And if it turns out a crown isn't necessary, Dr. Peralta will say so. He'd rather give you an honest answer than a treatment plan you don't need.
The Prosthodontic Difference
Prosthodontics is a specialty built around restoring and replacing teeth. For you, that means the person placing your crown has spent years training specifically for this kind of work.
Material Selected for Your Mouth Dr. Peralta chooses crown materials based on where the tooth sits, how hard it works, and how it needs to look. What goes in your back molar and what goes on a visible front tooth are two different conversations.
Prepared With Your Bite in Mind How a crown sits against your surrounding teeth affects how you chew, how your jaw feels, and how long the crown lasts. Dr. Peralta checks the fit carefully before you leave.
A Result Built to Last Had poorly fitted crowns elsewhere? You’ll notice the difference this time. A crown placed with prosthodontic precision holds up through years of daily use without becoming something you have to think about.
Two Appointments, No Surprises
Dr. Peralta walks you through what each appointment involves before anything begins. He's direct about what the tooth needs and why.
First appointment
Second appointment
Both visits take place in an environment that takes dental anxiety seriously, deliberately built to feel different from a typical dental office. If the thought of white-knuckling your way through your procedure has been holding you back, you have options: noise-cancelling headphones, a personal TV, weighted blankets, and oral conscious sedation.
Just mention it when you book, and our team will guide and support you every step of the way.
An Honest Opinion Before Anything Else
Chicago has no shortage of practices that recommend more treatment than a tooth actually warrants. Our loyal patients are vocal about the Dr. Peralta difference.
He reviews what's happening with your tooth, explains it plainly, and recommends a crown only when the tooth genuinely needs one.
His prosthodontic training means he sees the bigger picture: how this tooth fits your bite, and what protecting it now prevents later.
Put simply: no pressure, no unnecessary recommendations. Just a thorough review and a plan that made sense.

A Tooth That Works and Holds
The best crown is one you forget about. You eat without thinking twice, and the repair holds up through years of daily use.
Bring all your questions to the first appointment. Dr. Peralta will tell you honestly what the tooth needs and what the process looks like, and he'll never try to "sell you" on it before you're ready.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer same-day crowns?
We do not currently offer same-day crowns. Your permanent crown is custom-made for your tooth and seated at a second appointment, usually within one to two weeks of your first visit.
How long will it last?
With regular care, a well-placed crown lasts 15 years or longer. Longevity comes down to the quality of the materials, the precision of the fit, and how the tooth is maintained over time. Dr. Peralta builds for the long term.
Is the procedure painful?
The area is fully anaesthetised before preparation begins. Most patients find the experience considerably more manageable than they anticipated. For patients with significant dental anxiety, oral conscious sedation is available alongside in-chair options including weighted blankets and noise-cancelling headphones.
Will it look like my natural tooth?
Yes. Dr. Peralta selects materials and shades matched to the light-reflecting properties of your surrounding enamel. For most patients, the crown is indistinguishable from the teeth beside it.
Do I need a crown, or is there another option?
That depends on what's happening with the tooth. Dr. Peralta examines it, explains what he finds, and tells you honestly whether a crown is necessary or whether a more conservative option makes sense. There's no upsell culture here. If a crown is recommended, it's because the tooth needs it.
